I’M HEATHER DAHMER AND I’D LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO READ MY NEW BOOK TITLED “IF THIS HOUSE COULD TALK…”
“When a middle-aged, retired, trying-to-keep-it-together, ex-wife, widow,kinda-sorta grandma, and sometimes-achiever is thrown into a life of pandemic-mandated isolation, the best solution is to record the day-to-day antics. The biggest problem? She’s just returned from half a year away and her house is lacking many necessities. Told in a personal, funny voice, IF THIS HOUSE COULD TALK . . . captures one woman’s ups and downs as she copes, along with the rest of the world, with the great 2020 pandemic.
Hilarious, personable, and silly, this book is a reassuring and friendly companion
to life in lockdown.”
H. L . Dahmer ’s sense of humour and love of words has led her through many professional, volunteer, and personal experiences, including work with a non-profit charitable organization helping families dealing with workplace tragedy. Her unique and humorous perspective allows her to write stories about struggle and initiative and they have forged her way through the things life drops at her door and through her attic walls.
Her article “Letting the Light Back In” won an award from Threads of Life in 2015, and explored love, loss, and beginning again as a widow in a whole new world after the loss of her husband. She is many things to many people: a mother, divorcee, window, step-grandmother, caregiver, and writer.
She wrote a blog for years detailing her husband’s illness and last years, and If This
House Could Talk . . . is the first book in a new series. She lives in Dunsford, Ontario.
